Antique Thailand Gilded Buddha Sitting on High Plinths

Antique Thailand gilded buddha sitting on high plinths (significant of it’s importance). This is “The Earth Touching Buddha”, ?the most common pose you will find in temples in Thailand with the legs crossed, left hand in the lap and the right hand pointing to the ground with the palm facing inward toward the Buddha. The posture is known as “Calling The Earth to Witness” and is the definition of the moment of enlightenment for the Buddha. This Buddha is very special because it’s holding a prayer inside.
